Backflow Testing
Annual testing that protects your drinking water.
Expert Backflow Testing
A backflow assembly keeps irrigation water, fertilizer, and other contaminants from flowing back into your drinking water. Many Treasure Valley water providers require these assemblies to be tested every year.
We test backflow assemblies, repair the ones that fail, and replace them when repair no longer makes sense.

Backflow Testing Questions, Answered
Straight answers from local plumbers who've been working in Nampa and the Treasure Valley since 1960.
What is a backflow assembly?
+
It's a device that lets water flow one way only. It keeps irrigation water, and anything in it, from being pulled back into the clean water supply.
Is backflow testing required?
+
Many Treasure Valley cities and water providers require an annual test. Your provider will usually send a notice with a deadline.
How long does a backflow test take?
+
A routine test is a short visit. If the assembly fails and needs parts, the repair takes longer.
What happens if my assembly fails the test?
+
We explain why it failed. Many assemblies can be rebuilt with new internal parts. If it's damaged beyond repair, we replace it.
Can a backflow assembly freeze?
+
Yes. Above-ground assemblies are exposed and can crack in a hard freeze. Draining and protecting the assembly as part of your fall irrigation blow-out prevents that.
What do I get after the test?
+
A test report showing the results. That's what your water provider needs to see.
